Mortgage Rates Largest One-Week Drop in 10 Years
March 28, 2019, Freddie Mac announced the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
The PMMS reported that the average 30 year fixed rate mortgage dropped by 22 basis points making it the largest one-week drop in 10 years.
30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 4.06%down from last week at 4.28%last year at this time at 4.40%
15-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.57%down from last week at 3.71%last year at this time at 3.90%
5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable rate mortgage averaged 3.75% down from last week at 3.84%last year at this time at 3.66%

Facebook Charged with Housing Discrimination
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced on March 28, 2019 that they will be charging Facebook with violating the Fair Housing Act.
As stated in their announcement, HUD claims that Facebook’s
advertising platform encourages housing discrimination.
These charges are a follow-up to their investigation of a Secretary-initiated complaint which was filed in August 2018.
HUD’s allegations state that Facebook discriminates based on
race, color, national origin, religion, familial status, sex, and disability by
restricting those who will see housing related ads on Facebook.
