Mortgage Rates Largest One-Week Drop in 10 Years

March 28, 2019, Freddie Mac announced the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey.

The PMMS reported that the average 30 year fixed rate mortgage dropped by 22 basis points making it the  largest one-week drop in 10 years.


  • 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 4.06%
  • down from last week at 4.28%
  • last year at this time at 4.40%

  • 15-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.57%
  • down from last week at 3.71%
  • last year at this time at 3.90%

  • 5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable rate mortgage averaged 3.75%
  • down from last week at 3.84%
  • last year at this time at 3.66%
